Graduation and Senior Information

SENIOR CHECKOUT

Wednesday, June 4th in the Large Gym 

Senior checkout will be by Alpha:  

8:00 am - 10:00 am

Senior checkout is required for all seniors to be cleared to participate in graduation rehearsal and the graduation ceremony.

1. Senior checkout forms will be emailed on Tuesday, May 27 to all graduates at their student@sanjuan.edu email.  

2. The check out form must be complete with ALL signatures before coming to Senior checkout on June 4.

3. At Senior checkout, students will receive a packet with:

• Graduation wristbands for 8 guests

• Wrist band for the graduate to wear to graduation check in

• Students will receive their caps & gowns after the mandatory graduation rehearsal.

LOST OR STOLEN Wristbands will not be replaced.

GRAD REHEARSAL

Wednesday, June 4th

11:30 - 1:30 in the BV Stadium or Quad

Rehearsal will occur in the Stadium. If a student does not participate in the rehearsal, they will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony. Attendance will be taken at the rehearsal. Students are responsible to provide their own transportation to rehearsal and graduation. If a parent/guardian brings you to rehearsal, they are to either drop you off or wait in their car. No parents/guardians will be allowed at rehearsal unless required for the student’s safety and care.

We recommend students bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and water as rehearsal is mainly outdoors and it is typically sunny and warm Sacramento weather.

Caps & gowns will be distributed at the end of graduation rehearsal.

GRADUATION CEREMONY

Location: Bella Vista High School

Date: Thursday June 5, 2025

Time: 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Arrival time: Stadium or Quad will open at 7:15am for families to find seats

GRADUATE ARRIVAL TIME, LOCATION, AND PROTOCOLS

Graduates are expected to be present in the large gym NO LATER THAN 7:00am. Any graduates driving themselves need to arrive before 6:45am for parking.

GRADUATE ATTIRE:

Cap & Gown 

Unadorned/unmodified cap, gown, and tassel.  Cap and Gowns must be worn, zipped up, and free of any additional adornments, except school approved and/or provided medals, cords, and/or sashes.  Students who have completed basic training and is an active member of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces may wear a military dress uniform at the ceremony. Students are permitted to wear tribal regalia or recognized objects of religious or cultural significance as an adornment to the customary ceremonial attire, as long as the adornment does not cause a substantial disruption of, or material interference with, the ceremony. Students who desire to wear such adornments shall seek permission from the principal prior to the day of the graduation ceremony. 

Clothing -  Dressy Casual

Collared shirts (no T-shirts)

Dress or skirt

Dress pants, slacks, or khakis (no shorts).  

Footwear:  Flats, sandals, or heels (No flip flops, tennis shoes, running shoes, etc.)

It is recommended that no student wear a heel that is skinny (stiletto) as it may sink into the field and create an unstable foundation for students. It is recommended that students wear wedges or shoes with a full-sole. 

EVENT PARKING

There will be parking available in the Bella Vista parking lot next to the stadium and limited overflow parking. Due to the limited number of parking spaces, we encourage graduates and family members to ride together.

GUEST EXPECTATIONS

Photos, Live Stream

Bill Smith will be on site taking photos of graduates receiving their diploma and walking across the stage. Photos can be ordered by visiting: https://vando.imagequix.com/s2074866538

Orangevale Live will be streaming to both YouTube and Facebook, using the Orangevale Live home pages. A few days before graduation, families can do a search on YouTube for Bella Vista Graduation 2023 and it will come up. If they are following OV Live on Facebook, they will get an automatic alert when the stream starts. There will NOT be DVD recording available for purchase.

1. Guests must wear a graduation wristband to be admitted into the stadium.

2. No Balloons, Signs, Banners, or any other items that can disrupt the view of other guests. We ask that these remain in your vehicle or be left at the ticket booth at your own risk.

3. Families are to remain in their seats for the duration of the event and will not be permitted on the track for taking pictures. The field gates to field seating will close promptly at 8am for the processional. Please know that Bill Smith Photography will be present and will take pictures of each student after walking across the stage. Pictures will be available through Bill Smith Photography.

4. No artificial sound makers will be allowed.

Senior Portraits

Senior Portraits must be scheduled through Bill Smith Photography.

• Portraits should be taken fall 2023 to be included in the current year's yearbook. The very last day possible to take portraits and be included in the yearbook is January 15, 2024.
