BVHS Community Service Opportunities 2025-26
Please remember that if you volunteer, you need to be reliable and show up or let them know if you can't make it. Don't be a flake!! They are depending on you being there.

The Sign Up Genius is now open for volunteer shifts and each position states if students can volunteer (some positions need Adults like the Snack Bar and Security). Mostly, we need volunteers for the Doors, Runners, Greeters for the day. If they sign up - please ask them to put "AVID" in the comments of their sign up just so we know who they are that is coming. It's very easy and fun (and they will get to see some amazing dance performances too) and each position has a description on the sign up genius.

This is a highly publicized event and the media LOVES our Golden Retrievers. If you are shy, this may not be for you. We will have 2 people in Golden Retriever Costumes leading our part of the parade. The others will assist people with their Goldens and parade activities i.e. audio, photography. Students should wear their AVID sweatshirts or a red sweatshirt. The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles. If you have any questions, please text Robin, 916-5914051
- The Green Teen Project: https://www.helpinghandsov.org/about-2 This volunteer-driven program gives teens ages 13–17 the chance to serve their community by mowing and raking lawns for seniors, veterans, disabled neighbors, and low-income families in need. Here’s how it works: Teens sign up and complete a brief form. Once submitted, their parent or guardian will receive a consent form to confirm participation. After consent is received, students are mailed a starter kit that includes a Green Teen t-shirt, safety glasses, and flyers to share in their neighborhood. For every 10 lawns completed, teens receive a small prize. After 30 lawns, they are invited to our summer celebration party!
