Junior Year

Visit the College and Career Center (CCC)

The CCC is a great space to start exploring options after graduation.  You will find info about colleges, branches of the military, scholarships, job opportunities, test prep materials and more.  The CCC is open daily during lunch time.

Stay consistent w/ your extracurricular activities Take on a leadership role in the activities.  Longevity matters!

 

Take a career assessment using online personality/interest tools.  Determine if the career your are interested in requires a college degree.

 

Start your college research by meeting w/ reps, attending college fairs, visiting campuses and exploring Naviance College Super Match.

 

Continue to challenge yourself academically by taking on a higher-level (honors or AP) class.

 

Take practice SAT/ACT test and take them spring of Junior year.  Check which schools require tests or use them for placement and which are test optional for admission.

 

Athletes: Register with NCAA and NAIA to complete all recruitment forms.

 

Meet with military recruiters and take the ASVAB.

 

Create your career or college resume and practice interviewing skills.

 

Start researching scholarship opportunities for Juniors.

 

GPA really matters in your Junior year!  Get good grades.
